Kensington Symphony Orchestra’s Sponsored Play XVI
Sunday 29 April 2018, Westfield Shepherd’s Bush 12 noon - 6pm
Following great success at Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush) in 2013 and 2015, which together raised over £30,000 for War Child, Kensington Symphony Orchestra will return to Westfield on Sunday 29th April 2018 for another Sponsored Play, the 16th in a series that started in 1989.
The money raised from sponsorship and donations on the day will go mainly to two charities: at least 70% (usually around 85%) will be split between War Child, a small international charity currently working to protect children from the brutal effects of war and its consequences in Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Syria and Uganda; and The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation, to support them in providing help for those who lived in Grenfell Tower, others directly affected and the local community. The balance goes to KSO itself, which uses the money to support our events and our work with Pimlico Academy.
Charity No: 1069620

The charities we are supporting
We will be raising money for two charities:
War Child, a small international charity working to protect children from the effects of war in Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Syria and Uganda.
The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation, providing support for those who lived in Grenfell Tower, other people affected by the fire and the local community.
The two charities will share at least 75% of the proceeds from sponsorship and donations on the day.
The balance will go to KSO, also a registered charity, to help us stage more of these events and to support our musical activities with students at Pimlico Academy, the orchestra’s primary rehearsal home.
We are grateful to Westfield London for the use of its space and sound equipment, and for its help in staging and promoting the event – and to KSO members for their music, equipment and time.
